Ed has loved baseball since he was a young boy and he has always been excited to share that love with his son. :) He and Eddie enjoy doing "boy stuff" together each day in the early evenings after Ed gets home from work. They either go fishing, swimming, ride bikes, play football, or play baseball. One of Ed's funny rules is that Eddie gets to have ice cream every time he hits the ball over our backyard fence. (We made a family trip to get frozen yogurt last Sunday to celebrate the THREE balls Eddie hit over the fence that day). Ed has taken Eddie to see a professional basketball game a couple of times, but last Friday, Ed was given the company tickets to the Rangers game and he and Eddie were able to go together. It was something Ed has been looking forward to for a long time and of course Eddie was beyond excited to go see professional baseball. When they came home, Ed reported that Eddie watched the game intently and asked a lot of questions. He asked about the "hitters" and the "glovers" and enjoyed eating stadium food. Boys will be boys!

How fun! That seemed like such a special night. We really want to take Madeline to a baseball game, but we'll have to wait until we're in St. Louis...she has no choice but to be a Cardinals fan :)
I'm a little late in commenting here. Samuel loves baseball also, so I hope he and Eddie have a chance to talk about it next time they get together. We have to drive an hour just to get to a minor league game, but we did do that several weeks ago, and Samuel had a fantastic time. We're already looking forward to seeing some Cornell games (free admission!) in the spring.
