Orange You Glad You Came?

It's the little things, folks. It doesn't take much to get my kids excited. A friend told me that tonight from 5 to 7pm you would receive a free burger at Whataburger if you were wearing orange. I mentioned it to Eddie and he was immediately excited. He loves burgers, especially at that particular restaurant, so it became our plan for dinner! Eddie pulled out his old Jana t-shirt (she sings Christian songs for kids. Eddie was a big fan at 3 years old). Sophia didn't have anything orange, so she wore one of my shirts as a dress, although she made it clear she wanted CHICKEN for dinner, not a burger.

Once we arrived, we could see through the window that the restaurant was full of balloons and people wearing orange. Eddie said, "Let's go join the party, Mom!" We enjoyed the yummy food. I did order Sophia one chicken strip, but she ended up eating her burger too! The kids were given masks and balloons to take home, and a highlight of the trip was when someone brought their dog into the restaurant wearing a little orange shirt! Eddie exclaimed, "That dog is going to eat a burger??!"

These are the only pictures I could get... Sophia would not hold still. :)

They are so precious!

Love that they get so excited about the little things - that's a priceless trait.

Adorable! Sometimes we adults (or "dolts" as you used to say when you were Sophia's age) need to see the world through our children's eyes. Suddenly dinner becomes a party - all orange and full of balloons and masks and favorite foods! Congrats to you for going along with it and making it a real party!

What pure joy! Love you all!
