Texas Winter Snow!

We have had two snow storms in the past few weeks. The first was just a random morning of snow that only brought a few inches, but Ed and Eddie went out immediately and started building things out of snow. Ed taught Eddie how to start a snowball and then roll it all over the yard to pick up more snow until it is HUGE! They rolled their snowballs all the way from the front yard into the back yard and back to the front again. Sophia and I went out for a shorter time and built a little snowman together.

Today we are having another snow day! The storm began on Monday night. It rained for hours and as the temperature dropped below freezing, the rain started to freeze. By morning, there was about 3 inches of ice covering all the roads and sidewalks. The ice stayed through today, Friday, and since it started snowing last night, now there is 8 inches of snow on top of the ice! We are planning to go out and play in the snow this afternoon. But I have some pics of how the snow looked when we woke up this morning.

Boys getting to destroy stuff... heaven! Notice Ed has a sledge hammer...

The snow piled up so high, you can't see our steps, or the hill sloping down, or the street!
