He is Risen

We had a wonderful Easter weekend celebrating Jesus! On Good Friday, we read the story of Jesus dying on the cross from the Bible, and talked about it with the kids. I am passing down a family tradition of breaking a white chocolate lamb and each having a piece in remembrance of Jesus. It isn't communion, but I think it is a good introduction to communion and the kids understood the meaning of the white lamb representing Jesus being pure and sinless.

On Saturday, we decorated Easter eggs. On Sunday, I sang in the choir for all 3 church services which means Daddy was in charge of getting the kids ready for church. Unfortunately, that means we didn't get pictures of the kids in their Easter best clothes, but they looked adorable! The last song of the church service called all the kids to come up on stage and sing and dance with us. The kids loved singing and celebrating Jesus rising from the dead! Later, we had an Easter egg hunt around the house and the kids enjoyed some Easter treats. We ended the day having dinner at our friends' house.

Happy Easter!

Such a sweet family remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice and celebration of His resurrection.

[And some awesome Easter egg coloring skills - it must be said.]
