Filling in the Gaps

Watch out for that Storm! Eddie's soccer team, the Texas Storm, has once again had a great season! So far, they are undefeated and their last game is on Tuesday. Eddie has learned so much this season. His coach concentrated on teaching the boys the field positions and the job each position plays. In fact, several times I have cheered for Eddie to join all the other boys when they are charging toward the goal, when it turns out he was hanging back field because that was his position! He knows when to hang back in case a team mate wants to pass it to him and instead of just staying on top of the ball, he knows when to move to the opposite side of the field so that his teammate can pass it to him if he is being guarded too heavily. Gone are the days of a jumbled mess of boys falling all over each other just trying to kick the ball. Eddie really enjoys the strategy of the game now and it is exciting to watch! This last game was spirit day, so all the boys painted their hair blue on wrote on their faces.

Last season on spirit day, Eddie had a gap on his bottom front teeth and this season he has a gap on his front two teeth! Also, last season I decided what to write on his face and this season he told me exactly what he wanted me to write.
